Sarah comes to us from the Northwest corner of Ohio where she was a multi-sport athlete and scholar for the Edon Bombers. Her volleyball career started there, as a defensive specialist and then Libero her senior year on varsity. While being a role model as a student athlete, Sarah also participated in the post-secondary program, earning a semester’s worth of college credit while still in high school. She continued her academic career at Indiana Tech of Fort Wayne, Indiana by pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering and playing libero on the Junior Varsity volleyball team for 2 years. Playing against her little sister on an opposing team was a highlight of her senior year! One of her favorite highlights academically was being involved in the creation of a STEM residential summer camp for high school and junior high students interested in engineering or computer science. Sarah began coaching youth during college, first with the Northwest Volleyball Club of Paulding, Ohio for 2 years, then a 5-6 grade team for the Edon Bombers in a league setting for two falls. Since moving to Michigan, Sarah led the Climax- Scotts Panther Junior High Volleyball Teams for 3 years and is now in her 2nd season with NLP. Next Level’s leadership and social responsibilities to the players attracted Sarah to pursue a coaching position. In her professional life, Sarah serves as Senior Procurement Specialist for New Product Development at Tekna Inc. and continues to volunteer in the communities with the Society of Women Engineers and 4-H. She resides in Scotts with her husband Josh, daughter Evalinea and dogs, Bo & Arrow.
