Jud Hoff

Mr. Hoff was born in Madison, WI and grew up in Olympia, WA. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Analysis from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. Upon graduation, he served over four years in the United States Army as an Aviation Officer. He is married and has four children.

Jud began his career with Stryker in 1990 at the Instruments Division as a Facilities Supervisor. During the next 12 years, he served in various leadership roles in Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Information Technology. In 2002, Jud moved to a Company-wide role reporting to the Chairman as the Director of Strategic Operations and then as the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance for Stryker.

In 2004, Jud took the leadership reigns of Stryker Physiotherapy Associates. Physiotherapy Associates provided physical, occupational and speech therapy services to patients recovering from orthopedic or neurological illness and injury. With over 490 facilities in 31 states, Physiotherapy Associates was one of the nation’s leading outpatient rehabilitation organizations. During the next three years, Jud diligently lead the organization through a successful divestiture to a private equity group.

In 2007, Jud returned to the Instruments Division as Vice President responsible for teams leading Service, Distribution, Customer Service, Facilities Engineering, Reimbursement, International Marketing, Marketing Communications and Compliance. Additionally, he served as General Manager for the Neuro, Spine and ENT division of Instruments as well as the Navigation division.

Beginning in 2009, Jud assumed leadership of the Surgical Division of Instruments as its General Manager. He also had Instruments-wide responsibility for Research and Development and Global Service.

In Mid-2009, Instruments embarked on a Journey of total quality transformation. Jud stepped forward and created the Customer Excellence Team and assumed leadership of this team with global responsibility for R+D, Manufacturing, Business Process Excellence, QA/RA, Service, OUS Marketing, Communications, Customer Service, Distribution and Compliance. In 2014, he added P+L responsibility for Europe and Canada. Jud retired from Stryker in 2016 as the Global Vice President, Commercial Operations where his focus was on creating an exceptional customer experience through business process excellence and industry leading innovation.

Jud currently serves on the board of two private medical device manufacturing companies and two non-profit organizations. Additionally, he is the co-owner of Next Level Performance, LLC; Dome Associates, LLC; and Legacy Consulting, LLC
