FOCUS AREAS: Baseball Training
A native of Kalamazoo, Michigan and the son of Robin and Ruth Hook of Texas Township, Jared hook serves as Next Level Performance’s Director of Baseball & Softball.
A three year starter for Coach Paul Schneider at Portage Central, Hook was part of several league and county championship squads with the Mustangs winning a District Championship his senior season. Following his senior year, Hook was named to the Michigan Dream Team and played in the Michigan High School All Star Game at Comerica Park.
A Michigan State Baseball recruit, Hook joined the Spartan Baseball Team in the fall of 2008. A preseason knee injury sidelined him during his Freshman campaign in 2009. He rehabbed and returned to the diamond for the 2010 season as a back-up infielder for the Spartans. During the summer of 2010 and 2011, Hook played in The Great Lakes Collegiate League for the Southern Ohio Copperheads advancing to the league playoffs each season. He earned the starting role as the Spartan Designated Hitter in 2011 and was part of the first MSU Big Ten Baseball Championship Team since 1979. Finishing in the top 10 in the conference with a .341 batting average, Hook received 2011 All Big Ten honors and earned the Steve Garvey Most Improved Player Award for the Spartans. As a first baseman and DH, Hook helped the 2012 Spartans earn a berth in the 2012 NCAA College Baseball Championship Tournament traveling to a West Regional hosted by Stanford.
Following a second knee injury while playing with the Battle Creek Bombers in the Northwoods Summer Collegiate League in 2012, Hook graduated in December of that year from MSU.
Married to another Portage Central Alum, Sarah (May) Hook, a Physician Assistant at Bronson Hospital, Jared and his wife live in Texas Township with their dog Rookie.
Jared Hook serves as Next Level’s Director of Baseball in NLP’s baseball development program.
FOCUS AREAS: Baseball & Softball Training (hitting, fielding, catching, men’s pitching), Team Training Program
A native of Fort Myers, Florida, Mike began his coaching career while attending Western Michigan University. As head baseball coach for the Portage Central High School’s freshmen team, he led them to their best overall season record of 21-4. While coaching at Portage Central, Mike led two South Portage Senior League teams to consecutive final four and state finals trips. In 2012, Mike assumed the head coaching position at Centreville High School. In 2015, 3 years later, Mike led the varsity team to the first Regional and State’s Finals Championship in the school’s history (overall best record 29-2). Mike’s success as Centreville coach continued by winning 4 consecutive district titles, back-to-back regional championships, and 2 final four appearances. Mike has received numerous honors including MHSAA District Coach of the year 2014-17, MHS BCA Regional Coach of the Year 2015 and 2016, and State of Michigan Honorable Mention Coach of the Year in 2015. Mike has been a personal trainer for more than 8 years, teaching and coaching athletes of all ages, many of whom went on to play ball at the collegiate level.
Mike Webster serves as Next Level’s baseball and softball private skills training and development programs.
FOCUS AREAS: Football Training (Quarterbacks), Leadership & Character Development, Keynote Speaker—Beyond The Game Conferences
A native of Orrville, Ohio, Tim was a record setting quarterback at Orrville High School and Western Michigan University. At WMU Tim played in 44 games and led the Broncos to 2 bowl games while earning both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. As a student-athlete, Tim maintained a 4.0 GPA and claimed numerous national honors including being named an Academic All-American and winning the Wuerffel Trophy, known as the Humanitarian Heisman, which honors Academic, Athletic, and Community Service achievement. After his college career Tim spent time with 4 NFL teams, primarily the Indianapolis Colts. He was also the head football coach at Gull Lake High School for three seasons and is a frequently requested speaker across the Midwest in the areas of leadership development, faith, and discovering purpose.
Next Level co-founder Tim Hiller serves as NLP’s Director of Athlete Development. Tim oversees NLP’s comprehensive skill development programs, as well as NLP’s proprietary leadership & character development curriculum. Tim’s on-field coaching focus is within NLP’s football development program where he leads all quarterback training and NLP’s Quarterback Academy. He is also a featured speaker at NLP’s Beyond The Game Conferences.

A native of Warren, Michigan, Scott took on the challenge of joining the Western Michigan University football program as a walk on. After three years of hard work, Scott earned a scholarship for his senior season in 2008. During his career as a defensive back for the Broncos, Scott appeared in nearly 30 games, including 2 bowl games. Following his collegiate career, Scott served as a physical education teacher and coach at Vicksburg Community Schools. Scott brings vast youth coaching experience—middle school, freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity—and a passion for speaking and teaching to connect with student-athletes in a way that is relevant, inspiring, and fun.
Next Level co-founder Scott Gajos leads all wide receiver and defensive back training in NLP’s football development program and is a featured speaker at NLP’s Beyond The Game Conferences.
FOCUS AREAS: Football Training (Offensive & Defensive Line)
A graduate of DePere High School in DePere, Wisconsin, Drew was a 2-time team captain, an All-State selection, and the #8 ranked recruit in the state of Wisconsin. His success led him to a scholarship at Western Michigan University, where Drew made an immediate impact, playing in 10 games as a true freshman. Drew was a 4-year letter winner for the Broncos, finishing his career with 180 tackles, 30.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2011. Upon completing his collegiate career, Drew was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he showed his versatility, switching to offensive line and spending 2 seasons with the team. Drew then went to Seattle, where he played 2 season for the Seahawks, making his debut into the starting line up on Monday Night Football at Lambeau Field near his hometown in Green Bay, WI. After 2 years in Seattle blocking for quarterback Russell Wilson, Drew spent a year with the Kansas City Chiefs before his professional career came to a close. Drew and his wife Maria have a daughter named Acilia.
Drew Nowak serves as a positional coach in Next Level Performance’s comprehensive football development program, focusing on offensive & defensive line.
FOCUS AREAS: Football Training (Offensive & Defensive Line)
A graduate of Michigan high school football powerhouse Detroit Cass Tech, Jon was a member of Detroit City, District and Regional championship football teams during his high school year. Named to the Detroit Free Press “Fab 50” as a senior, Jon was a highly-touted recruit across the Midwest. Eventually Jon selected Western Michigan University where he showed his versatility, spending time on the Bronco offensive line as a center, guard and tackle. Jon was a letterwinner for the Broncos, all the while maintaining over a 3.0 grade point average and completing both his undergraduate and graduate degrees at WMU.
Jon Jackson serves as a positional coach in Next Level Performance’s comprehensive football development program, focusing on offensive & defensive line.
FOCUS AREAS: Football Training (Linebackers)
A graduate of Vicksburg High School, Drew was an All-State, All-Region, and All-Conference performer on the football field for the Bulldogs, while also serving as a team captain. His senior season, Drew set the VHS single-season school record for tackles, while being named team MVP. In addition, Drew also played basketball and ran track while playing leadership roles in National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Following his illustrious high school career, Drew went on to play football for Hillsdale College, where he continued his success, leading the Chargers entire defense in tackles for loss and sacks 2 consecutive seasons. Drew finished his career as a 2-time All-GLIAC Academic selection and was named a team captain his senior season. He was also selected to represent Hillsdale in the prestigious D-II senior all-star game in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Drew Mallery serves as a positional coach in Next Level Performance’s comprehensive football development program, focusing on linebackers.
FOCUS AREAS: Soccer Training
A native of the United Kingdom, Gregg was a standout soccer player who received the honor of representing Cheshire County, UK at the conclusion of his high school career. He is a highly-qualified soccer coach, whose qualifications include: NSCAA Premier Diploma – Distinguished Pass, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma – Distinguished Pass, NSCAA National Diploma, and USSF E License. Gregg has spent the last 10 years in soccer facility/club leadership roles and head coaching roles in Massachusetts, including serving as the Technical Director, Development Programs Director, and Clinic Director at Abbey Villa Soccer Club in Hopkinton, MA.
Gregg Williams serves as Next Level’s Director of Soccer Operations, overseeing NLP’s soccer development program.

A graduate of Vicksburg High School, Keenan was an Academic All-State selection in both soccer and track & field, as he carried a 3.84 GPA and was a 2-time team captain. Keenan went on to play soccer on scholarship at Siena Heights University where he broke into the starting lineup for the Saints as a freshman and had a successful career. While at SHU, Keenan was also an active leader of the campus Fellowship of Christian Athletes program.

Speed & Agility/Strength & Conditioning Coaches
Bob Vezeau, CSCS
FOCUS AREAS: Strength Training, Speed & Agility, Team Training Program
Bob brings unparalleled experience to NLP, having spent 20 years as a collegiate strength & conditioning coach, including 8 at the Division 1 level. A graduate of Springfield College in Massachusetts, Bob holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Exercise Science, as well as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist certification. During his time as a collegiate strength coach at the University of Virginia and Western Michigan University Bob developed and mentored 19 drafted professional athletes (NFL and NHL) and 6 Super Bowl Champions.
Bob Vezeau serves as a Performance Coach in Next Level’s comprehensive strength training and speed & agility programs. Bob oversees NLP’s Team Training Program – an exclusive training service that takes Next Level’s program on the road, training hundreds of athletes each summer at local high schools and travel/club programs all over West Michigan.
Joanna Gangwisch, MS, CSCS
FOCUS AREAS: Injury Prevention, Strength Training, Speed & Agility, Team Training Program
A native of Rochester, Michigan, Joanna grew up as a multi-sport athlete. After several knee injuries, a reconstructive surgery ended up sidelining her from participating in any sports. During her sophomore year at Western Michigan University, an injury while running resulted in undergoing the same surgery on the other knee. After a long and grueling recovery, she was cleared to participate in sports again. This lead her to pursue a career in sports performance where she discovered a passion for strength and conditioning and educating athletes on injury prevention. Graduating with honors, she has now earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Exercise Physiology from Western while serving as a graduate teaching assistant and the graduate assistant for Special Olympics. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, she has worked with Western’s men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, hockey, softball, baseball, men’s and women’s tennis, track & field, cross country, gymnastics, and men’s soccer teams as well as having experience training a variety of clientele in general fitness settings.
Joanna Gangwisch serves as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in Next Level’s comprehensive strength training and speed & agility programs. She is also the lead trainer for Next Level’s R.I.S.E UP! knee injury prevention and adult fitness programs.
FOCUS AREAS: Volleyball Training, Speed & Agility, Strength Training
A graduate of Alma High School, Sarah was a 4-year letter winner and team captain for the Ferris State University volleyball program. During her time with the Bulldogs, Sarah was a 2-time Academic All-GLIAC selection. Sarah holds a B.S. in Recreation Leadership with an emphasis on Corporate Fitness & Wellness and also an M.A. in Physical Education Pedagogy. Sarah also completed an internship with the National Institute for Fitness and Sport in Indianapolis. Prior to joining the Next Level family, Sarah was an assistant volleyball coach at Alma College.
Sarah Prom serves as a Head Volleyball coach for Next Level’s travel volleyball teams in NLP’s volleyball development program. Sarah is also a Performance Coach in Next Level’s comprehensive strength training and speed & agility programs, focusing on developing female athletes.
FOCUS AREAS: Volleyball Training
A graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School, Kaitlin was a 3-sport athlete in high school and was named 1st Team All-State in Michigan Class C volleyball. Kaitlin went on to play volleyball on scholarship at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL. At Trinity Kaitlin was a 2-time NAIA All-American outside hitter and was also recognized with the NAIA National Scholar Athlete award.
Kaitlin Feddema serves as a Head Volleyball coach for Next Level’s travel volleyball teams in NLP’s volleyball development program.
FOCUS AREAS: Volleyball Training
Jess played 3 years of varsity volleyball at Kalamazoo Christian. She played middle as a sophomore and outside hitter her junior and senior seasons. She helped lead the comets to quarterfinals in 2007. She was named all conference, all region, and all state honorable mention. After high school Jess graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2012 with a degree in Exercise Science. She moved to Florida for a year and a half after college and moved back to Kalamazoo in 2013. After working in the health and wellness field for a few years, she chose a new career path and now works for State Farm. Jess has coached volleyball at Looga in 2007-2008 and again in 2014. She has been the JV coach at Kalamazoo Christian High School since 2014. She has also coached 3 seasons with Dead Frog Volleyball.
Jess VanderLugt serves as a Head Volleyball coach for Next Level’s travel volleyball teams in NLP’s volleyball development program.
FOCUS AREAS: Volleyball Training
A graduate of Shorecrest Prep High School in St. Petersburg, Florida, Sidney was a multi-sport athlete and academic standout for the Chargers. Her college selection process eventually led her to Kalamazoo College, where she double majored in business and psychology. At Kalamazoo, Sidney took on the rare feat of being a 2-sport college athlete, as she was a member of both the volleyball and basketball teams, while still maintaining her continued academic success in the classroom. Sidney was selected a team captain during her time with the Hornets, and was second on the volleyball team in blocks, and third in kills, while finishing third on the basketball team in blocked shots. She was also named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and received the prestigious Henry and Inez Brown Award, which honors outstanding community service and participation in the Kalamazoo College community.
Sidney Wall serves as a Head Volleyball coach for Next Level’s travel volleyball teams in NLP’s volleyball development program.
FOCUS AREAS: Wrestling Training
A graduate of Portage Central High School, Adam was an all-state performer (4th place, Division 1, 2010), finishing his high school career in the top 10 all-time for wins by a PCHS wrestler (136 wins) while maintaining a 3.4 GPA. Adam went on to continue his wrestling career at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a 3 time NAIA national qualifier at the 141, 149, and 157 pound weight classes. Prior to joining the Next Level family, Adam was the co-founder of the highly successful Phenom Wrestling Academy, where he developed multiple youth and high school All-Americans from a pool of wrestlers spanning Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana.
Adam Fahs serves as the Director of Wrestling for Next Level’s wrestling development program.
